Help! How can I insert HTML symbols using the Report Template Editor (RTE)

When editing a cell using the Report Template Editor insert a HTML symbol using the smarttag {HTML:xxxxx} where xxxxx is the HTML code for the symbol (eg {HTML:©} or {HTML:©} or {HTML:©} for the copyright symbol: ©).
